How does a ChatGPT Plus top-up from China work?

The whole process is self-service: no overseas credit card of your own, and no account password or verification code. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1: Choose a payment method and pay

In the pricing section, click buy on ChatGPT Plus. Alipay / Card / Apple Pay: you go to Stripe's secure payment page; enter the email you use to sign in to ChatGPT in the email field, and after payment you land on the "Enter your info" page automatically. WeChat Pay: scan to pay, then click "I've paid" to open the same page. You don't need to put an order number in the payment note.

Step 2: Fill in and submit your details

First sign in to the ChatGPT account you want to top up in a browser on your computer or phone (this doesn't work in the ChatGPT app), then open https://chatgpt.com/api/auth/session, copy the whole page, and paste it into the "ChatGPT sign-in information" field. The page reads the account email from it; check that it is right, then click "Submit". The order number (XQ-…) at the top of the page can be copied in one click; use it for any after-sales inquiry.

Step 3: Confirm the subscription is active

Once "Details submitted" appears, there is no need to submit again. After payment is verified, the top-up usually completes within 10 minutes; WeChat orders are processed once the payment is confirmed. Sign in to ChatGPT and confirm the subscription is active.

Successfully activated

After the subscription has been delivered to the account, they are usually not canceled as "without reason"; for abnormal orders, contact support with your order number to have them checked.

Do I need an overseas credit card or my account password for a ChatGPT Plus top-up?

How do I get the Session? What if submission fails?

How long after payment is it active?

Can I pay with WeChat Pay or Alipay?

Yes. You can scan the WeChat QR code, or pay with Alipay, a card or Apple Pay (charged in HKD; your Alipay or bank statement is final). OpenAI's own checkout only accepts international credit cards.

My plan isn't active after payment. What should I send?
