How to Buy Claude Max from China: 5x, 20x and Paying in RMB (2026)

Claude Max is Anthropic's higher-usage subscription above Pro. Official monthly prices: Max 5x $100, Max 20x $200. Both include Claude Code. Pro ($20) is enough for light use; Max is for people who hit Pro's limit every day.
How do you buy Claude Max from mainland China? claude.ai only takes cards. Without an international card that goes through, you can use an RMB top-up on your own account: pay with WeChat Pay or Alipay, then activate Max with a one-time login code—no password.

Pick Max 5x if you code every day and Pro runs out mid-session. Pick Max 20x for long agent runs or several projects at once. All paid plans also have a weekly limit—Max is not unlimited.
The web app and Claude Code share one allowance. Max's bundled API credits do not apply to Claude Code or the Claude apps (Anthropic's stated rule).
Why buying Max from China is hard
Payment. Official checkout only takes cards, not Alipay or WeChat Pay. Mainland-issued cards are often declined.
Region. Mainland China and Hong Kong aren't among Anthropic's supported regions; Taiwan is. Using Claude from an unsupported region is outside what Anthropic supports. Whether an account gets restricted is Anthropic's call. See service availability.
Account readiness. New Free accounts that have never paid and never passed identity verification usually fail to activate. Fix that before you pay.

Your account needs all three:
- It's on Free right now, with no active subscription.
- It has had a paid Claude plan before, or has passed Anthropic's identity verification (ID plus a selfie).
- Your sign-up region, phone number region and usual sign-in region match.
How to order:
- Check the account. Search your inbox for "Your receipt from Anthropic". If it's there, you have a payment record. If not, look at Settings → Billing until any Verify prompt is gone.
- On the plans page, pick Max 5x or 20x, pay, and enter the email of the account to top up.
- Add support on WeChat with the note "Claude" and send the order details and email.
- Support starts a sign-in on Anthropic's official page; you forward the one-time code from your inbox. No password at any point.
- Once it's active, open claude.ai (and run
claude//loginin the terminal if you use Claude Code).
If you already bought Pro from Xingqiao, you can move to Max mid-cycle at the new plan's full price, with no credit for the current one; contact support to arrange it. Plans bought elsewhere usually need to expire back to Free first.
If activation fails, you get a full refund. If Anthropic restricts the account after activation, there's usually no refund. See the refund policy.

Can I buy Claude Max 20x from China with Alipay or WeChat Pay?
